Posted by deb on Friday, April 23 @ 07:42:51 EST (362 reads)

A NEW food and wine booklet featuring Tenterfield’s food and wine highlights has been launched by Regional Development Australia Northern Inland (RDANI).
The second edition of the ‘Food & Wine - Northern Inland NSW’ booklet was launched in April 2010.

It focuses on food and wine producers as well as retailers and hospitality businesses specialising in the region’s food and wine. Featured businesses include Mistral Hill Country Kitchen and Accommodation and wineries Deetswood Wines, Kurrajong Downs Wines, Reedy Creek Estate Wines and Zappa Wines.

The booklet was launched by the Chair of the New England North West Regional Tourism Organisation and Committee Member of Regional Development Australia Northern Inland, Les Parsons, and attended by representatives of Tenterfield Shire Council, the Visitors Information Centre and the local food and wine industries.

The booklet features maps to facilitate food and wine tourism, with Tenterfield’s offerings highlighted on the Bruxner Highway route.

More than 15,000 copies of the full-colour, 36-page booklet were published with the assistance of Industry and Investment NSW, the New England - North West Regional Tourism Organisation, and individual listed businesses in the food, wine and hospitality sectors across northern inland New South Wales.

Latest News In Regional Food and Wine Cooking school is Back in Orange NSW
Posted by deb on Sunday, March 21 @ 19:01:59 EST (398 reads)

A big hello to everyone,

After a very long break indeed, I’m back in the kitchen and rearing to go.

Autumn is upon us and the recent chill in the weather has suddenly ignited my need to cook.

This first program for the year has plenty of Autumn tones and regional flavour, a session with often overlooked fish, a weekend brunch and four cakes that will be welcome over Easter and, of course, FOOD Week.

I look forward to seeing you around my tables.

Kind regards,

Lesley Russell

Latest News In Regional Food and Wine Orange Food Week April 9-18 2010 NSW
Posted by deb on Sunday, March 14 @ 11:39:11 EST (613 reads)

F.O.O.D Week: 9th - 18th April 2010
F.O.O.D Week 2010 is nearly here!

The shires of Orange, Cabonne and Blyaney are known as 'The Food Basket' of NSW and each year F.O.O.D. Week (Food Of Orange District) supports local produce and 'fine food' with an annual event held over 10 days - in April showcasing the producers, their products, the local chefs and restaurants, and other enterprises that provide the region with its great reputation for fine food and wine.

Offering everything from wine tasting to farm gate tours, cooking demonstrations, cabaret, music and picnics to a huge 'Night Market' and the Country Energy Food Affair, plus the 100-Mile Dinner hosted by the F.O.O.D Week committee and the people of Canowindra featuring dishes made from local produce sourced within a 100-Miles of Orange.

During F.O.O.D Week you can visit farms, markets, kitchens, restaurants, cafes, wineries, attend special celebration dinners, workshops and events and sample fine wines, orchard fruits, beef, lamb, venison, vegetables and more.

Meet those who grow such the produce, the chefs, caterers and cooks who create extraordinary dishes for our dining pleasure from it and everyone else who works in the food and hospitality industries. These people are overwhelmingly passionate about what they do and thankfully, for all of us, they are equally passionate about sharing what they do!

Visit during F.O.O.D Week and we guarantee you an entertaining and gastronomically exciting time that you won't forget!

Key Events

* Night Market (opening night) Friday 9 April 5:30 – 8:30pm

* 100-Mile Dinner Monday 12 April 6:30pm

* Country Energy Food Affair Sunday 18 April 10am – 4pm
