John and Debbie Putt from Bungendore’s Old Stone House bed and breakfast have recently joined the Poacher’s Way.

Their blissful circa 1867 home is nestled amongst an acre of delightful gardens and offers guests four bedrooms, fine dining using seasonal produce from the kitchen garden and comforting crackling fires in winter.

B&B with the birds
Near Canberra is Redbrow Garden , in an oasis of green between Hall and Murrumbateman. Four spacious guest rooms look out to a lake with ducks, moorhens, coots and other wetland birds. Each air-conditioned room has an ensuite bathroom and twin showers.

There are a number of features which set Redbrow apart from other B&Bs. The owners, David and Elisabeth Judge, have established nine hectares of plants, shrubs, fruit and nut trees, organic berries and vegetables, in addition to roses and daffodils.
Seventy species of birds visit, making a morning or evening stroll especially interesting for nature lovers. In keeping with Redbrow's animal-friendly theme, paddock and stable facilities are available for guests travelling with horses, alpacas and stud cattle.
All rooms are linked by a short covered walkway through a landscaped courtyard to a large breakfast and recreation room with a raised deck overlooking the garden. Full country breakfasts include garden-fresh fruit and berries and new-laid eggs from Redbrow's free-range chooks.
